I lounged in this hammock for quite sometime with my boyfriend, nearly falling asleep. Then WHAM - inspiration stuck. He got out and tirelessly pushed me for 15-20 minutes while I snapped away to get this. After a billion (yes, slight exaggeration there) snaps making sure that the hammock and I were in focus and the background was blurred. I finally got it!

Oh, the joy of feeling weightless for a half a second! Whee! I hope you like it! :)

Horribly intrusive watermarks are tacky. If you're concerned about people stealing your photos, don't post them on the internet.

Photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event. (HCB)

Spectacular effect. As usual, it seems, I'm not a fan of the border ;) Again here, I think there is way too little horizontal border compared to vertical; it's unbalancing. There should definitely be more vertical space than horizontal, but the proportionality here seems way off. The photo, on the other hand, is dead on, and warranted a +fav :D

By the way, here is why I think the white frame works here: the vibrant and VARIED spectrum of colors is more drawing to the eye than the pure white of the border. I would argue that the eye is first and foremost drawn to isolation (not present here), then rich color, then brightness. You should only have a white border if the rest of the photo has (1) a single, isolated dark focus surrounded by brightness (like, say, a lone dark tree in the middle of a snowy field), or (2) a rich assortment of color (like this photo).

Thanks, Greg! I just couldn't get it on the frame. And it's that way on a lot of things I've been doing lately. It's like I think, "Oh, this one's good. Ok, let's slap a border on there." I chaulk it up to laziness and staying up much too late while you-know-who plays Garry's Mod while laughing his head off. Poor excuse, I know, but at this time of night (morning?) I'm just tiiiiiiiired!

I appreciate the :+fav: too! That from you is worth a celebration for it's rarity. Or perhaps *gasp* a decent night's sleep. zzzz... -SilB
